FAQ

What You Might Want to Know:

Where is your storefront? Can I pick up just one bagel?

Space Bagels is a cottage licensed home-based business so we do not have a storefront and do not offer same day pick up. All orders are made in small batches, just for you (wahoo!), so pre-order is required. At the moment we are also only offering home or office contact-free delivery.

Why don't you sell cream cheese / schmear?

We are operating under a WA State cottage food license which doesn't allow us to sell anything not on the approved cottage foods list. As much as we appreciate a good bagel with schmear, we cannot prepare cream cheese at this time. Instead, we highly recommend you pick up your favorite brand before you order. That way you're ready to enjoy your bagels right away.

Why is there a $20 minimum order cost for delivery? Why is there a delivery radius limit?

Space Bagels is essentially a one woman show (Jess is owner / baker / delivery driver) so we need to keep our deliveries within a fairly local radius and we need to cover our gas. You know, the basics. Thank you for supporting a small, woman-run business!

Can I get bagels for my catered event?

Sure! We do have a limited amount of prep space so bagel counts need to be kept under 130 bagels. If that works for you, just drop Jess an email via the contact us page with ideas about what you want, when, and your budget and she will respond as soon as her hands are free of flour.

How do I store my bagels?

Great question! Light and moisture are your biggest enemy. As these are fresh bagels they have a shelf life of about 1-2 days. If you can't consume them in that time, eat what you want on the day you receive them and pop the rest, laying flat in freezer bags or individually wrapped in saran, into the freezer. Take them out individually when needed. Microwave for 30 secs, slice and toast as usual.

Do you offer any gluten free flavors?

Unfortunately no. Part of what makes bagels so chewy, fluffy, and stretchy is the gluten. Removing that would take away the thing that makes bagels...well...bagels.

Are your bagels kosher?

Again, unfortunately no. While we honor and respect the Jewish connection to bagels we have chosen not to pursue kosher certification at this time. We understand that ingredients are often a concern so we have posted the list of ingredients of each of our bagels alongside the product pictures. These labels will also be on your bagels for future reference. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.

What if I don't like my bagels? Do you accept returns?

We do not accept returns. If you are dissatisfied with your order please feel free to contact us and we will do what we can to remedy the situation.

Do you deliver to Seattle / Bainbridge / Vashon Island?

Unfortunately not at this time. Deliveries are limited to the peninsula, but, if you are interested in a catering order, drop us a line and we will see what we can do!
